Certified or Licensed Professional positions require a license from the State of Kansas. Questions regarding license requirements should be directed to your degree granting university and the Certification Section of the Teacher Licensure Department of Education in Topeka, Kansas, 785-296-2288.
An application for professional employment should include the following documents to be considered complete. Most documents may be attached to the application or mailed directly to the Human Resources Office.
- On-line application
- Transcripts from all credit granting colleges and universities. (For those applying for teaching positions)
- Teaching/administrative license and other materials that might assist in the hiring process.
- Letters of reference. (Optional)
Classified Exempt & Classified Hourly Staff
These positions do not require certification or a professional license. Qualifications are based upon the skill level or certification required for each position. Classified staff are paid according to a schedule approved for each position. Applicants for elementary paraeducator/instructional support positions must submit a copy of a transcript verifying completion of a minimum of 48 college hours or a copy of the state assessment results. We are in need of exceptional individuals who would be willing to help impact student lives when the regular classroom teacher is absent. There is more than one way to qualify as a substitute teacher. You may apply if you hold a Kansas teaching license. You’re eligible for an emergency substitute license if you have a college degree or at least 60 college hours. You will work in a variety of classrooms with different groups of students. Substitute teachers are paid $100 per day. If a substitute teacher is continuously in one assignment for 20 consecutive days, the pay rate shall follow the beginning teacher base salary for future continuous work in that position and shall become retroactive to the first day of that particular assignment.
